VALORANT player uncovers audio bug on Catwalk in Ascent map

The Latest VALORANT Bug That Can Impact Competitive Play

A recent bug in the popular game VALORANT has raised concerns among players and may impact competitive play. One player discovered an audio bug on the Ascent map, which could potentially give players an unfair advantage. This bug causes the game engine to produce the wrong footstep sound on Mid Catwalk, confusing opposing players. Tests conducted by confirmed the existence of this bug during custom games.

Audio Exploit Discovered on Ascent and Split’s B Catwalk

The bug seems to be triggered when players walk on the outer edge of the Catwalk ledge instead of the metallic walkway. Instead of the expected metal sound, the footsteps produce a grass sound. This can be particularly disorienting for enemies holding A Tree position, as they might expect the approaching player to be in the grassy courtyard. The bug also affects Split’s B Catwalk, where footsteps sound like they are on grass despite no grass being present on the site itself.

Uncertainty Surrounding Riot’s Awareness and Future Fix

It is uncertain whether Riot, the developer of VALORANT, is aware of this audio bug. The bug may have slipped through in the recent Patch 3.0 update. However, considering its negative impact on competitive integrity, it is likely that Riot will release a future patch to promptly fix this issue.
