FaZe Clan emerges victorious over Astralis in ELEAGUE CS:GO Premier

ELEAGUE CS:GO Premier: FaZe Defeats Astralis to Win for the Second Time in a Row

Last night, the ELEAGUE CS:GO Premier came to an end with an exciting finale. For the second event in a row, FaZe remains at the top of Counter-Strike.

In the grand finals of the $1 million tournament series, FaZe swept Astralis 2-0, earning $500,000 in the process. FaZe picked Cache as their map and Astralis chose Overpass as their own.

Unfortunately, Cache didn’t start off well for FaZe, with Astralis leading 12-3 at halftime from their strong Counter-Terrorist side. But despite the score disparity, FaZe made an incredible comeback, giving up only two gun rounds in the second half. FaZe showed their worth and closed out the map with a 16-14 victory over the struggling Danish team.

However, the second map, Overpass, had a completely different narrative. FaZe dominated throughout, stopping or shutting down several of Astralis’ first executes with ease. The first half ended with a similar scoreline to Cache at 12-3, except this time, FaZe was on top. Although Astralis took the second pistol round and scored a few points, they couldn’t maintain their momentum during the following buy rounds. FaZe confidently shocked Astralis on their strongest map, ending the series with a 16-7 score and a 2-0 shutout.

With their victory at the ELEAGUE Premier, FaZe has solidified their position at the top of CS:GO for the first time this year. After winning the championship title at ESL One New York in mid-September, there were doubts about whether they could maintain their strength in future events. However, this win proves that they are undeniably the best team in Counter-Strike at the moment, with a 15-0 win-loss map record at the past two offline events.

FaZe’s consistency will be put to the test at the next tournament, EPICENTER 2017, taking place from Oct. 23 to 29.
