Dizzy falls victim to Crypto hacking during Apex Legends stream

Infamous Hacker Crypto Strikes Again in Apex Legends

The notorious hacker known as Crypto has made his presence felt once more, as his symbol appeared on the stream of professional Apex Legends player Coby “dizzy” Meadows.

During a trios match, dizzy and his NRG teammates Marshall Mohr and streamer Mason “symfuhny” Lanier found themselves facing enemy players inside a cave. As dizzy approached a small house, a mysterious red overlay began to appear on his stream.

As the cryptic messages started to fade away, a haunting red symbol emerged with the numbers “3333” displayed in the center of the screen.

This symbol is most likely a tease for Crypto, as it bears a striking resemblance to the one seen at the end of the official backstory video for the character. In the video, the symbol flashes on the screen before the Apex logo appears. It features a menacing robot-like face with a hood on top and electrical wiring throughout.

This symbol is closely associated with Crypto, as he is a hacker seeking revenge against a mysterious Mercenary Syndicate that took everything from him.

It is likely that Respawn was simply teasing Crypto through dizzy’s stream, and this symbol is not an actual in-game feature. This assumption is supported by the fact that dizzy was not perturbed by the symbol, suggesting that it appeared on his PC rather than in the game itself. Given that this stream was sponsored, it is possible that Respawn has partnered with dizzy to promote Crypto and his hacking abilities.

Respawn has been showcasing Crypto’s talents in other ways as well. The official Twitter account for Apex appears to have been hacked by Crypto, as the display text has been altered and the description reads “running decryption.”

Crypto is almost certainly set to make his debut in season three, which launches on Oct. 1.
