During the tournament, controversy arose in the chat room regarding cheating allegations against Team Woops. The allegations stemmed from their decision to farm for legendary weapons before the start of the rounds. Although this strategy was not explicitly prohibited in the event rules, viewers felt it was unethical. The tournament hosts addressed the issue by informing Team Woops that they were no longer allowed to farm for weapons between the rounds.

The Twitch Rivals Borderlands 3 challenge was hosted by streamers SayNoToRage, Caleb “WavePunk” Simmons, and Britanni Johnson. The teams were tasked with completing Proving Ground challenges as fast as possible across three rounds of increasing difficulty. Scoring was determined by the amount of time left on the clock when a challenge was completed, with multipliers for difficulty.

A $50,000 prize pool was up for grabs, with cash prizes awarded to teams after each round based on their placement. Bonus cash was also given for two additional challenges at the end of the event.
