MATUMBAMAN signs with Team Liquid

MATUMBAMAN Joins Team Liquid in Dota 2 Roster Shuffle

In another surprising move in the Dota 2 esports scene, MATUMBAMAN has officially joined Team Liquid after parting ways with Team Secret. This news comes shortly after his former teammate Zai also joined Liquid, sparking speculation among fans. Both players’ departures from Team Secret were unexpected, considering the team’s successful year in Dota 2.

Team Liquid confirmed the signing of MATUMBAMAN with a tweet that read, “Matu is coming home.” The player also shared his excitement on Twitter, posting a short clip. It seems like a return to Liquid feels like coming home for MATUMBAMAN.

It’s worth noting that this is MATUMBAMAN’s second time playing for Team Liquid, but the team’s roster has changed since his previous stint. In 2017, he was part of the Liquid roster that won The International under KuroKy’s leadership. However, in 2019, he was released after a series of disappointing results. Liquid then formed their own organization, Team Nigma, and MATUMBAMAN did not extend his contract with Liquid.

In recent years, Liquid has been nurturing new talents and their young squad, led by iNsaNiA, has had a successful DPC season. The addition of MATUMBAMAN and Zai further strengthens their roster.

As for the specifics of their roles within Liquid, it remains unclear who MATUMBAMAN and Zai will be replacing. Both players have the versatility to play different positions, which gives Liquid various options. It’s possible that MiCKe could return to the mid lane while MATUMBAMAN takes on the position one. Zai is known for excelling in positions three and four, leaving fans speculating about who will be removed from Liquid’s lineup to accommodate the new players.

The answers may not be far off, as the next season of the DPC is set to start on November 29. Liquid will need to finalize their lineup soon in order to participate in the upcoming season.
