The launch of Cyberpunk 2077 by CD Projekt Red was highly controversial. The game had many bugs and technical issues, resulting in a lot of criticism and refunds. But after a few years of improvements, is it worth picking up and playing Cyberpunk 2077 now?
Cyberpunk 2077’s announcement was eagerly awaited due to the success of CD Projekt Red’s previous game, The Witcher 3. However, when Cyberpunk 2077 was finally released in December 2022, it was a disaster. The game was full of bugs, glitches, and technical problems, damaging the reputation of the acclaimed developer.
Fast forward to today, and Cyberpunk 2077 is unrecognizable from its initial state. The developers have spent years fixing and improving the game. So, should you buy Cyberpunk 2077 now?

Speaking from my own experience, I had Cyberpunk 2077 when it first came out and played it on a PS5. Despite the bugs and crashing issues, I had around 40 to 50 hours of enjoyable gameplay. I don’t regret buying it and would have recommended it even in 2020.

As of 2023, Cyberpunk 2077 has undergone significant improvements. CD Projekt Red has fixed numerous bugs, overhauled the perk system, improved AI, and made changes to driving mechanics, NPCs, and more. The game now offers a much better experience than before.
If that’s not enough, you can also buy the Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty DLC, which adds new features, side quests, and story content. The DLC has been well-received and expands upon the base game.
You Need to Buy Cyberpunk 2077
The current version of Cyberpunk 2077 is drastically different from its initial release. It has surpassed what should have been offered at launch. Although it took time, CD Projekt Red has restored people’s faith in the game. So, if you haven’t already, it’s definitely worth buying Cyberpunk 2077 now.
