Addicted to Chaos bug in Cyberpunk 2077, explained

To complete this job, you need to retrieve a secret stash that Rinder told you about. The location of the stash is marked on your job tracker.

Once you reach the stash location, you may encounter a bug where nothing happens when you input the code on the garage door.

  • Addicted to Chaos may be marked as complete randomly when you approach the stash.
  • A few seconds later, another job called Addicted to Chaos will start automatically.
  • When you enter the code 1975 on the garage door, it does not open.

This bug can be frustrating, but there are a few fixes you can try. One of them is a guaranteed fix that works every time.

How to fix the garage door bug in Addicted to Chaos

If nothing happened when you entered the code 1975 on the garage door in Addicted to Chaos, there are a couple of potential fixes. If you’re a Netrunner or using a Cyberdeck, you’re in luck because you can fix the bug in under five seconds.

If you’re not a Netrunner, you may need to do some shopping to fix this bug, but you can still effectively debug the door and complete Addicted to Chaos.

The guaranteed fix: Remote Deactivation

This is the recommended method as it is 100 percent effective and the least intrusive. The bugged garage door can be remotely deactivated with a Quickhack, just like turrets and cameras in Cyberpunk 2077.

The catch is that you need to be using a Cyberdeck. If you’re already using one, you’re good to go. If not, you’ll need to temporarily swap your chrome for a Cyberdeck by visiting a ripperdoc. It may be expensive, but it will solve the bug.

  • Using Remote Deactivation allows you to bypass the bug and open the garage door.

The game will assume you opened the door by conventional means and move you on to the next objective of looting the stash, allowing you to complete Addicted to Chaos as if there was no bug.

Possible fix: Wait for Rinder’s text

If you don’t want to spend money on a Cyberdeck, you have another option, although it’s not guaranteed to work like the Remote Deactivation fix.

After completing The Man Who Killed Jason Foreman, you can go straight to Rinder’s Stash. However, if you wait a couple of days, Rinder will text you to say thanks and remind you about the stash.

Some players on Reddit have reported that waiting for this text fixed the bug, but it may not work for everyone. Feel free to try this option first, but be prepared to resort back to the Remote Deactivation fix if necessary.
