Team Secret secures top 3 for the first time, sweeping Invictus Gaming at The International 10

Team Secret Break Curse, Secure Top 3 Finish at The International 10

Team Secret has finally broken their curse with a dominant 2-0 victory against Invictus Gaming, guaranteeing themselves at least a third-place finish at The International 10.

Heading into this Dota 2 series, Secret was riding high after defeating two-time defending champions OG. They maintained their momentum and swept iG without letting it slip away.

The first game showcased Secret’s strategy, with Puppey drafting heroes that were considered strong for iG but turned out to be easily crushed by Secret. They focused on positioning themselves with their own heroes, not fearing iG’s picks.

iG struggled to make a push as Secret controlled the pace of the game. They initiated fights and executed turnarounds with zai’s Vengeful Spirit, while Puppey and YapzOr provided excellent support. Nisha and MATUMBAMAN excelled, leading to iG’s concession just past the 30-minute mark.

In game two, iG fought back strongly. Puppey’s drafting strategy allowed iG to secure a strong lineup, putting pressure on Secret’s heroes to snowball during lanes. However, Secret’s ability to handle the chaotic nature of the game and optimize their movements gave them the advantage. Matu’s Lifestealer and YapzOr’s Windranger played crucial roles in winning teamfights.

Regardless of their future performance, Team Secret has already achieved their best placement at TI, surpassing their fourth-place finish at TI9. They accomplished this while climbing through the upper bracket.

Meanwhile, iG moves to the lower bracket and will face the winner of T1 and Vici Gaming on Oct. 16.
