Ex-NiP CS:GO player Pyth announces retirement, transitioning to VALORANT

CS:GO Pro Pyth Joins VALORANT

Professional CS:GO player pyth has announced his retirement from CS:GO to compete in Riot Games’ upcoming first-person shooter, VALORANT. Pyth, a former member of Ninjas in Pyjamas, made the decision after struggling to find a team that would bring him back to the top level of the professional scene. He expressed his desire to perform at his highest ability and find a place where he truly belongs. Pyth’s move to VALORANT comes after other notable CS:GO players Shahzam, SicK, and Sinatraa have also transitioned to the game.

Moving on from CS:GO

Pyth shared his decision to retire from CS:GO on Twitter, citing his inability to regain his former level of performance and his struggle to find the right fit within various teams. Despite being a part of the successful NiP roster in 2016, where they won IEM Oakland and DreamHack Masters Malmö, pyth’s individual performances declined, leading to his removal from the team. However, with his experience playing at the highest level of CS:GO, he is likely to find an organization willing to sign him and his teammates in VALORANT.

VALORANT’s Growing Attraction

VALORANT’s appeal to professional CS:GO players is evident with the recent moves of pyth, Shahzam, SicK, and Sinatraa. Riot Games has plans to develop the esports scene for VALORANT through merit-based competition. With the game’s growing popularity and the opportunities it presents, it’s no surprise that players from other competitive games are gravitating towards it.
