100 Thieves Secures Upper Bracket Victory in VALORANT Champions Tour Last Chance Qualifier

In a thrilling showdown, 100 Thieves emerged victorious against NRG in the upper bracket of the VALORANT Champions Tour Last Chance Qualifier for North America. The win guarantees a rematch with FaZe Clan for 100 Thieves, while NRG will now compete in the lower bracket.

For the best-of-three series, NRG opted for Icebox as the opening map, a map that both teams were familiar with. Despite NRG’s advantage in map selection, 100 Thieves worked tirelessly to maintain their position. With a tie score of 6-6 at halftime, 100 Thieves took the first two rounds in the second half. However, NRG quickly turned the tide by winning five consecutive rounds. Although 100 Thieves made a valiant effort to catch up, they fell short, losing with a score of 11-13.

The series then moved on to 100 Thieves’ choice, Bind, where they took a 7-5 lead into halftime. Once again, NRG struggled in the pistol rounds, giving 100 Thieves a bigger advantage before the map concluded with a score of 13-7. Viper player, Stellar, delivered an exceptional performance with a 1.9 KD, accumulating 21 kills and only 11 deaths.

The deciding map of the series was Ascent, determining which team would advance to face FaZe Clan in the upper bracket, while the other team would await the victor between Sentinels and Evil Geniuses in the lower bracket. It was a closely contested battle, resulting in a tied game at halftime once again. NRG managed to secure both pistol rounds in each half and appeared to have the upper hand in the second half. However, 100 Thieves made an impressive comeback, showcasing their defensive prowess and winning six out of the last seven rounds to secure a 13-11 victory.

The win enables 100 Thieves to advance to face FaZe Clan in the upper bracket, a team that previously eliminated 100T in the Stage Two Challengers main event. Meanwhile, NRG will fight to stay in the tournament in the lower bracket.
