FaZe and Fnatic set to battle for a semifinal spot at IEM Katowice tomorrow

FaZe Clan and Fnatic Advance to Semifinals at IEM Katowice

Another exciting day at IEM Katowice has come to an end, with FaZe Clan and Fnatic emerging as strong contenders for the semifinal spots.

FaZe and Fnatic secured the top two spots in Group B with impressive 2-0 records in their recent matches. This positions them well for tomorrow’s games, giving them a chance to enter the semifinals with a favorable bracket, rather than starting in the quarterfinals.

North faced a tough defeat at the hands of FaZe earlier in the day, struggling to gain momentum on both Inferno (16-8) and Mirage (16-7). Danish in-game leader Finn “karrigan” Andersen led his star-studded team to victory on Inferno with 31 kills, while Nikola “NiKo” Kovac shone on Mirage with 24 frags.

The second Group B upper bracket match between G2 and Fnatic was a close one. G2 claimed their map pick, Cache, with a 16-7 score, thanks to clutch performances by Nathan “NBK” Schmitt and Richard “shox” Papillon. However, Fnatic picked up the pace on Mirage and Cobblestone, winning 61% of their T and CT sides on both maps and securing two 16-10 scorelines to win the series.

Here are the results of the other matches from today:

Group A – Elimination matches

  • Cloud9 vs. Renegades (2-1): C9 won Cache 16-8, Renegades won Inferno 16-8, and C9 won Train 16-6.
