Team Aster’s i-League 2021 winnings graciously contributed to aid Henan flood disaster relief efforts

Team Aster Donates Tournament Winnings to Chinese Flood Relief Efforts

Team Aster, a top competitive Dota 2 team in China, has announced that it will be donating all of its winnings from the recently concluded i-League 2021 tournament to support flood relief efforts in China’s Henan province.

Aster and other leading Chinese teams competed in the i-League 2021 tournament, which had a prize pool of over $185,000. Despite entering the playoffs as a mid-ranked team, Aster showcased their dominance by defeating PSG.LGD 2-1 and sweeping Vici Gaming to win the championship title.

China’s Henan province has been hit by historic rainfall, causing massive flooding that has potentially displaced millions of people in the capital city of Zhengzhou and its surrounding areas. As relief efforts continue amidst the impact of Typhoon In-fa, Aster has decided to donate their entire prize money, totaling $92,500, to aid in the recovery and support affected communities.

Speaking about their decision, Aster stated, “The relentless precipitation can’t put out the will to survive. After careful consideration with our club staff, Dota 2 players, and coaches, we have decided to make a disaster relief donation in the name of Team Aster using the final bonus from i-League.”

Aster has a history of contributing to charitable causes. In January, the team donated $30,000 to the Wuhan Charity Federation to support efforts in combating the spread of COVID-19.
