Riot acknowledges the imbalance caused by the Prism Operator skin in VALORANT

VALORANT’s Prism Collection Skin Bug: An Unfair Advantage

The sleek and classy Prism Collection is currently causing a stir in the world of VALORANT. A bug has been discovered that gives players using the Prism Operator skin a wider field of vision compared to other Operator skins. A comparison was recently posted on Reddit, drawing attention to this unintended bug.

Riot, the developer of VALORANT, has acknowledged the issue and reassured players that it will be fixed in an upcoming patch. This bug, if left unfixed, could have turned the Prism Collection into a pay-to-win mechanic.

In response to the Reddit post, Riot developer Fancypmcgee commented, “This is a bug which will be fixed in an upcoming patch, sorry about that. Competitive integrity is really important, and we test to make sure that we aren’t selling power with our cosmetic content.”

The bug is related to the quality of the game’s visuals. According to VALORANT developer Nicholas Wu Smith, the visual bug only occurs when the “material quality is set to low.”

Normally, when using the Operator sniper rifle, the scope should limit the player’s vision to the lens, obstructing the edges of the screen. However, the Prism skin bug completely removes the scope, allowing players to have a full field of vision.

Aim and vision are crucial in any first-person shooter game, and even the slightest advantage can be game-breaking. While players who have purchased the Prism Collection skin may currently have an unfair advantage, Riot is committed to rectifying the issue in the next patch.

Stay tuned for updates as Riot continues to address this bug and maintain competitive integrity in VALORANT.
