Potential VALORANT Partnership Shortlist: TSM, The Guard, Cloud9, and Other Organizations

VALORANT Partnership System Update: North American and Korean Teams Advance

Tournament hosts and VALORANT game developer, Riot Games, have recently announced the next steps for the partnership system set to take effect next year. In the North American region, several teams, including The Guard, TSM, Cloud9, NRG, and Version1, have made it through to the next round. Meanwhile, in Korea, DRX Vision Strikers are likely to advance as well.

While these teams have reached the next phase of partnership consideration, it is important to note that it does not guarantee their selection. Numerous other organizations have also made the shortlist, as Riot Games has selected a minimum of twelve teams for the next round in North America alone.

However, potential issues might arise for teams like T1 and G2. Multiple sources report that T1, a Korean brand, plans to remain in North America despite its strong presence in the Korean market. On the other hand, G2, European-based, aims to expand into the North American VALORANT scene. It remains uncertain whether Riot Games will allow G2 to take up a slot in the Americas league.

This round of team selections will be the second-to-last step before Riot Games finalizes the orgs that will be chosen for the partnered leagues in the coming year. Ultimately, around six to eight teams from North America will be selected for the Americas international league. Riot Games is expected to make the final decision on partnered teams prior to Champions, likely in August.

In the Americas league, there will be an additional four to six teams from Latin America and Brazil. Teams were originally informed that there would be around eight to ten teams in each league, with a maximum of twelve teams if there was a decision to increase the number. As of now, the initial report from still stands.

Of course, all eyes will be on Riot Games as they unveil the final selection of teams for the VALORANT partnership system in the near future.
