Top VALORANT Twitch content for July 11 to 17: VCT boosts popularity of the game

The top categories on Twitch had some notable changes in viewership last week, with esports and sponsored streams making significant impacts. Here are the top 10 most-watched categories on Twitch from July 11 to 17, according to Streams Charts data.

VALORANT surpasses League:
Thanks to VCT Masters Copenhagen and co-streaming by popular content creator Tarik, VALORANT took the top spot on Twitch, surpassing League of Legends. Tarik’s co-streaming contributed to the game’s 3.85 million hours watched, beating the official VALORANT channel’s 2.7 million hours watched. Shroud came in third place with 1.46 million hours watched on VALORANT.

WoW gains momentum with new alpha:
Although World of Warcraft wasn’t in the top 10, its viewership surged at the end of the week due to Blizzard’s public alpha testing for the upcoming expansion Dragonflight. The game saw a 40% increase in viewers, reaching 5.9 million hours watched. If the alpha’s content unveiling goes smoothly, WoW could continue to grow in the next month.

Gambling streams on the rise:
Despite the controversy surrounding gambling content on Twitch, top streamers have been accepting advertising money from companies like Stake. This pushed the slots category to over 10 million hours watched, making it a top 10 content form on Twitch. Swedish creator Roshtein led the category with 1.93 million hours watched, followed by xQc with 1.25 million hours watched, and Adin Ross with 717,619 hours watched.
