OpTic Claims Victory in Upper Bracket Semifinal at VCT Masters Copenhagen
In the upper bracket semifinal of VCT Masters Copenhagen, OpTic emerged victorious against DRX after an intense battle. Despite a strong performance from DRX, OpTic managed to secure their spot in the upper bracket final.
In the first game, DRX dominated the map, Fracture, displaying great teamwork and individual skill. OpTic struggled to keep up, failing to score a single point. DRX’s impressive performance led them to a 13-4 victory.
Although OpTic secured early kills in each round, DRX’s clutch plays resulted in a significant economic advantage for them. OpTic managed to win a few rounds, but the gap between the two teams was too wide. As a result, OpTic suffered a defeat on Fracture.
However, OpTic showed their resilience on DRX’s map pick, Breeze. With well-executed strategies and unexpected flanks, OpTic overwhelmed their opponents right from the start.
Although DRX showed some improvement in the second half, OpTic’s lead was too significant to overcome. OpTic sealed a convincing victory on Breeze, matching DRX’s score from the first map.
The deciding game took place on Bind, where both teams showcased their skills. DRX started with a well-executed strategy, but OpTic quickly disrupted their plans and secured an early round win. OpTic then went on a winning streak, including an impressive ACE by Victor. However, DRX fought back and won a few rounds of their own.
After switching sides, OpTic took control of the map, adapting their attack according to DRX’s defense. OpTic quickly reached double-digits on the scoreboard, while DRX struggled to catch up. Despite DRX’s impressive comeback to tie the score at 10-10, OpTic won two consecutive rounds to reach map and match point.
In a post-plant scenario on A site, OpTic successfully defended the spike against DRX’s attempts to retake, earning themselves a well-deserved victory.
The first two maps were one-sided, but the third map was fiercely contested. OpTic advanced to the upper bracket final, where they will face PaperRex. DRX, on the other hand, will compete against FunPlusPhoenix in the lower bracket semifinal for a chance to reach the Grand Final.
