An astonishing statistic reveals the key player for Fnatic at VCT LOCK//IN

Fnatic’s Leo Janesson Impresses at VCT LOCK//IN São Paulo, Maintains Remarkable Opening Stat

Fnatic’s VALORANT player Leo Janesson, who was named the VCT LOCK//IN São Paulo MVP by , showcased his exceptional skills throughout the $500,000 tournament. One standout statistic that went unnoticed is Leo’s ability to avoid being the first one to die in a round.

Leo managed to avoid conceding a first death in Fnatic’s first three matches against Sentinels, FURIA, and 100 Thieves at VCT LOCK//IN. It was only in the fourth match against Natus Vincere that the Sova main finally had his first death, after playing a total of 160 rounds in the tournament.

In the grand finals against LOUD, Leo suffered six first deaths, with five of them occurring in the last three maps of the best-of-five series. However, Fnatic emerged victorious with a 3-2 scoreline, clinching the trophy for the first VALORANT tournament featuring all 30 franchised teams.

Analyst Yinsu Collins highlighted Leo’s impressive stat on Twitter, mentioning that he only had seven first deaths across three Best-of-3s and two Best-of-5s played on LAN. Collins also pointed out that Leo’s first death came after playing 160 rounds at Lock In.

Leo’s performance in VCT LOCK//IN was outstanding in various aspects. Apart from his impressive opening stat, he also achieved the third-highest K/D ratio (1.41) in the tournament. He tied for the sixth-highest kill-assist-survive-trade (KAST) percentage (81 percent) and won the most clutches (13) in the event, according to VLR.gg.

Fnatic’s in-game leader, Boaster, commented on Yinsu’s Twitter thread, suggesting that he sacrificed himself for Leo in order to keep him alive for late-round situations. This strategy appeared to work well for Fnatic, as they not only won the tournament but also had the second-lowest average deaths per round, thanks to Leo’s cautious and effective gameplay.

With their success at VCT LOCK//IN, all eyes will be on Fnatic and Leo as they head to the EMEA League at the end of March. Currently, they hold the status of the number one team and player in the international VALORANT scene, respectively.
