Fnatic places doma on inactive VALORANT roster

Fnatic Moves Domagoj “doma” Fancev to Inactive Roster Ahead of 2022 VALORANT Season

Fnatic is making changes to its roster as it prepares for the upcoming 2022 VALORANT season. Just days after the conclusion of the VALORANT Champions event, where the team made it to the quarterfinals but was eliminated by KRU Esports, Fnatic has decided to move Domagoj “doma” Fancev to its inactive roster. The organization envisions a different look for its roster in 2022 and doma won’t be a part of it.

Doma joined Fnatic in February after the team picked up the SUMN FC roster. He played a key role in their victory at the EU Stage Two Challengers Two event and their qualification for Masters Reykjavík. Although Fnatic didn’t win the grand finals and lost to Sentinels, they secured their position as a top team. While Fnatic didn’t qualify for Masters Berlin, their circuit points allowed them to participate in Champions, where they didn’t claim the title.

Doma’s departure is just the first of several planned changes by Fnatic to create a successful lineup for the next season.

Team director Colin “CoJo” Johnson expressed his feelings about Doma’s departure on Fnatic’s website, saying, “From being the star of SUMN FC, to the star of Fnatic, to showing his selflessness by switching to other roles so that players like Derke could take the spotlight – he has really gone through quite the journey. He was always a light and funny member of the team and brought a lot of levity and contributed greatly to the team’s atmosphere. He will be a great addition to wherever he ends up next and bring that bald buff along with him.”

Doma is now free to trial with other teams and is expected to find a new home before the start of the 2022 season. Fnatic has one spot left to fill before the first Challengers event in February.
