Should you take the Chimera’s Core in the game Phantom Liberty?

After defeating the Chimera in Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty, you can choose to take its core. The core can be found near the wreckage where President Meyers is standing after the fight.

Should you take the Chimera’s Core in Phantom Liberty?

Yes, you should take it. There doesn’t seem to be any downside, and you can turn the core into a powerful mod.

Which mod should you make from the Chimera’s Core?

There are four different mods you can create with the Chimera’s core: the firecracker, wallpuncher, hackatomy, and severance.

Firecracker mod:

This mod gives explosive ammo to the weapon you equip it to, particularly sniper and precision rifles. Look for weapons with a mod slot to equip the Firecracker mod after the Chimera fight.

Wallpuncher mod:

This mod allows tech weapons to charge up to 200 percent capacity without increasing charge time. It provides 100 percent armor penetration and no penalties for penetrating cover, making it perfect for enemies hiding behind cover.

Hackatomy mod:

This smart weapon mod gives you a five percent chance to apply a quickhack effect to an enemy, depending on the body part you hit.

Severance mod:

The Severance mod gives you a 20 percent chance to dismember and instantly kill a target if you hit their head or limbs when they’re below 50 percent health.

Which mod should you make from the Chimera’s Core?

It all depends on your playstyle. If you prefer melee combat, go with Severance. If you like sniping from a distance, Firecracker or Wallpuncher would be suitable. If you have a tech-focused build, choose Hackatomy. Ultimately, the decision is up to you.
