VALORANT Community Urges for Enhanced Weapon Designs to Distinguish Between Guns

New First-Person Shooter VALORANT Receives Critiques for Similar Weapon Designs

Just a day after the release of Riot Games’ highly anticipated first-person shooter, VALORANT, players have already identified a potential improvement for the game. Many fans have pointed out that the various guns in the game look too similar to each other, causing difficulty in differentiating them both on the field and in-hand.

Unique Weapon Designs in CS:GO Provide Clear Visual Identification

Unlike VALORANT, CS:GO features unique weapon designs that allow players to instantly recognize different guns. For example, players can easily distinguish an AWP from a Scout by their distinct characteristics – the AWP is large, boxy, and green, while the Scout is skinny and gray.

This visual distinctiveness is crucial in a tactical shooter like VALORANT, particularly for certain gameplay elements. For instance, picking up weapons is essential for survival in some rounds, as running out of ammo for your current gun can leave you vulnerable. However, if similar-looking guns lead you to mistakenly pick up the wrong weapon, it could result in a loss for your team.

Furthermore, selecting certain weapons at the end of a victorious round is also important, as some weapons are more expensive than others. In VALORANT, the price of snipers varies significantly based on their power.

Unfortunately, it’s difficult to identify which sniper or rifle is which when they’re lying on the ground unless you inspect them up close to read their names. This issue also extends to certain rifles in the game, as they all have a similar appearance.

An effective solution to this problem would be to introduce specific colors for different weapons in VALORANT. Currently, all guns have default skins painted in a drab gray, which hampers visibility and identification since the guns share similar designs. While the option to purchase skins exists, it shouldn’t be the sole method of distinguishing guns during intense gameplay moments.
