Server Issues Plague Summit’s VALORANT Experience during Critical Moment

Summit1g Dominates Twitch, But Not Without Server Issues

Summit1g was the most-watched streamer on Twitch yesterday as Riot Games’ VALORANT beta was released. However, even he encountered server issues that plagued the first day.

In a close match, Summit’s team trailed 12-9. With time running out, he found himself alone, facing a one-vs-one situation at the end of the round. Strategically maneuvering around a wall, Summit came face to face with his opponent, setting the stage for an intense firefight.

However, just as quickly as his opponent appeared, Summit was disconnected from the game. His screen was now occupied by a Riot Account login screen, abruptly robbing him of the chance to showcase his clutch skills, thanks to the unpredictable nature of internet and game servers.

“Sign in with your Riot Account?” he exclaimed. “No way.”

Despite the frustration, Summit didn’t take the situation too hard. Even in the midst of his outburst, he found humor in how perfectly timed the disconnection was, teasing him with the promise of an epic gaming moment.

Summit’s disconnection was just one of the server issues faced by Riot throughout the day. Early on, numerous server problems interrupted gameplay for VALORANT streamers. Some players who gained access through Twitch drops also reported difficulties entering the game on Twitter.

Furthermore, the VALORANT event of Twitch Rivals was cut short due to server issues. While the European part of the event was completed, the highly-anticipated North American showdown was halted midway through pool play. However, the event is expected to resume at a later time, yet to be announced.
