Tfue Criticizes VALORANT, Describes it as Dull and Sluggish for Older Players

Tfue Gives a Critical Review of VALORANT

The first day of VALORANT’s closed beta has been record-breaking, but popular Fortnite pro Tfue is not impressed. During a stream, he expressed his disappointment with Riot Games’ tactical shooter, offering a contrasting opinion from other content creators.

Personal Taste over Quality

When asked if he will be playing VALORANT often, Tfue had some choice words for the game. “It’s pretty boring, dude,” he said. “I don’t like playing on a team with people, I just like 1v1.”

It seems that Tfue’s criticism stems more from personal taste rather than an issue with the actual quality of VALORANT. He mentioned that the game is good but boring, and he believes it caters more towards older players.

Slow-Paced and Strategy-Based

Tfue highlighted the slow pace of VALORANT and stated that kids wouldn’t be interested in playing it. He described it as a patient, strategy-based game that appeals more to older players.

VALORANT vs. Battle Royale Games

Battle royale games like Fortnite and PUBG are known for their fast-paced action and constant engagement. On the other hand, tactical shooters like CS:GO and VALORANT are more round-based and strategic, with more severe consequences for deaths compared to battle royales.

The closed beta of VALORANT has been incredibly successful, attracting 4 million concurrent viewers on Twitch. VALORANT itself was responsible for 1.7 million of those viewers, leading to Riot having to suspend stream drops due to overwhelming server load.

The game has received positive reception from streamers like shroud and TimTheTatMan, with shroud calling it “one of the greatest games” he’s played and TimTheTatMan stating that it might be the next big thing.

Many personalities, including shroud and summit1g, have compared VALORANT to CS 1.6 despite the game’s hero-shooter mechanics. This shows that Riot’s latest project is not forgetting the “tactical” aspect of a tactical shooter.

Riot’s First FPS Game

VALORANT marks Riot’s first foray into the FPS genre and its first game set apart from the League of Legends universe. Currently, the only way for fans to access the closed beta is by linking their Riot accounts to Twitch, watching streamers with drop-enabled broadcasts, and hoping to be selected for account whitelisting.
