Acend Falls to Ninjas in Pyjamas in VALORANT Champions Tour Quarterfinals

Acend’s hopes of defending their title at the EU Masters event of the VALORANT Champions Tour have taken a hit. In the quarterfinals of Challengers One, part of the VCT’s second stage, they were defeated by Ninjas in Pyjamas with a score of 2-1, despite initially leading the series 1-0.

Haven Map Highlights

On the first map, Haven, Acend showcased their championship form. Despite Haven not being their go-to map, they closed out the final rounds with impressive plays from BONECOLD and koldamenta.

Icebox Map Turns the Tides

The series shifted to Icebox, Acend’s favored map. However, Ninjas in Pyjamas came in strong with a new agent composition, dominating the attacking side. Although Acend had an impressive comeback on the attacking side, winning nine out of the first ten rounds in the second half, NiP secured the victory with two rounds on defense, winning 13-10.

Bind Map Seals the Win for Ninjas in Pyjamas

The third and final map, Bind, mirrored the dominance of Icebox with a strong attacking performance from NiP. They closed out the match with a 13-8 victory, securing the series 2-1. Rhyme stood out as the MVP of the series, delivering an outstanding performance on Raze.

Ninjas in Pyjamas will now face the winner of Guild Esports vs. Alliance in their next match.
