ENCE eliminates mousesports from ESL One Cologne tournament

ENCE Esports Continues Impressive Run, Eliminates mousesports

Finnish team ENCE Esports has pulled off yet another upset in Cologne, knocking out another big name team.

After defeating Swedish legends Ninjas in Pyjamas in the lower bracket of Group A, ENCE once again displayed their remarkable skills against tournament contenders mousesports.

Featuring experienced Finnish players like Aleksi “allu” Jalli and promising newcomers like Jere “sergej” Salo and Jani “Aerial” Jussila, ENCE were able to eliminate mousesports from ESL One Cologne with a convincing victory in two consecutive maps.

However, each victory was hard-fought. The most notable example occurred on the opening map Inferno, where ENCE dominated the first half with an 11-4 lead as Terrorists, but struggled in the second half. Both Tomáš “oskar” Šťastný and Chris “chrisJ” de Jong led mousesports to win ten rounds in the second half, pushing the map into overtime.

Nevertheless, ENCE showed resilience during the overtime and ultimately secured a 19-17 victory in mapscore.

The second map, Mirage, began with mousesports taking a strong 6-0 lead in the first half, but ENCE gradually caught up and trailed by only one round at halftime. In the second half, ENCE took control and quickly widened the gap in terms of rounds. Despite mousesports’ impressive retakes, it was not enough as ENCE closed out the match with a score of 16-10.

Throughout both maps, sergej continued to shine as the standout player for ENCE. The 16-year-old rifler delivered a world-class performance, accumulating a total of 62 kills.

ENCE will now face the winner of Na’Vi vs. Cloud9 tomorrow. A victory in the next match will secure ENCE a spot in the semifinals of the tournament.
