Rawkus leaves FaZe Clan VALORANT team for coaching position at Sentinels

Sentinels Adds VALORANT Head Coach Shane “Rawkus” Flaherty Ahead of VCT Champions

Sentinels, one of the top teams in the world of VALORANT, has made a key addition to their coaching staff. They have acquired Shane “Rawkus” Flaherty, previously from the FaZe Clan roster, as their new head coach.

A New Coach for Sentinels

Prior to this acquisition, Sentinels had been competing in VALORANT without an official head coach. In-game leader Shahzeb “ShahZaM” Khan was responsible for most of the shot-calling. Now, with the addition of Rawkus, the team is ready to take on the VCT Champions.

Rawkus’s Background

Rawkus, a former Overwatch League pro with the Houston Outlaws, joined FaZe Clan in August 2020. Since then, he has played the Sova main role for the team. With his experience and skills, Rawkus brings valuable expertise to the Sentinels roster.

Sentinels Dominance and FaZe Clan’s Struggles

During the first stage of the VALORANT Champions Tour, Sentinels and FaZe Clan faced each other three times. Sentinels emerged victorious in all three series, without dropping a single map. The team’s success continued, earning them a spot in the Champions event. Meanwhile, FaZe Clan had difficulties finding consistent success after the first stage.

Recently, FaZe Clan has seen multiple roster changes. The departure of Rawkus follows Hunter “BabyJ” Schline’s announcement that he and the organization were parting ways. The current FaZe roster consists of babybay, Corey Nigra, Zachary “ZachaREEE” Lombardo, and former CS:GO pro-turned-coach Joshua “JDM” Marzano.
