Astralis triumphs over Cloud9 in the ELEAGUE CS:GO Premier’s opening match

Astralis Dominates ELEAGUE CS:GO Premier, Defeating Cloud9

The top-ranked Counter-Strike: Global Offensive team in the world, Astralis, wasted no time asserting their dominance at the recent ELEAGUE CS:GO Premier tournament. Their first opponent, Cloud9, who were the most recent Major champions, faced a strong performance from Nicolai “device” Reedtz and ended up losing in two straight games.

In the first game, Inferno, both teams battled it out, with C9’s AWPer Tyler “Skadoodle” Latham making a three-kill play with three different weapons to force overtime. However, Astralis proved to be too strong, winning in the extra rounds. The second game, Overpass, was not as close, with none of the C9 players finishing with a positive kill-death ratio. Astralis had four positive players and a more cohesive playstyle, resulting in a 16-9 map victory and the series win.

Without a doubt, the standout player of the match was dev1ce, who ended up with 33 more kills than deaths throughout the series. In both games, he had the most kills and highest rating in the lobby, with his teammates supporting his aggressive playstyle.

C9’s fill-ins, STYKO and Golden, struggled against the Danes, as did their American teammates. The Boston Major champions will need to bounce back with a strong performance when they face the loser of MIBR vs. Team Liquid on July 24. Meanwhile, Astralis awaits the winner of that match and will play again on July 23.
