You can now buy abilities using VALORANT’s updated purchase menu

The Buy Menu in VALORANT: A Familiar Feature from CS:GO

Riot Games’ upcoming tactical shooter, VALORANT, will feature a historic element from popular first-person shooter CS:GO: the buy menu. This menu is crucial for purchasing weapons at the beginning of each round. While similar to CS:GO, the VALORANT buy menu has a few key differences.

Differences in the VALORANT Buy Menu

The VALORANT buy menu is organized into sections dedicated to specific types of weapons, such as Sidearms, SMGs, Rifles, Snipers, and Shields. The shields function similarly to Kevlar in CS:GO, providing extra bullet protection.

In addition to purchasing weapons, the buy menu in VALORANT will also be used to buy abilities. Unlike CS:GO, where abilities are earned during gameplay, VALORANT’s agents (playable characters, similar to Overwatch heroes) can purchase abilities. This introduces a strategic element to the game.

Currency and Acquisition

To acquire weapons and abilities in VALORANT, players will need to spend a certain amount of currency. This currency can be obtained throughout playtime, with players earning it through actions such as planting or defusing the objective or eliminating opponents.

VALORANT is set to be released this summer, with a speculated release date around September. Players may have the opportunity to participate in closed and open beta versions before the official release.
