Developer of Cyberpunk 2077 cautions streamers about copyrighted music that may result in DMCA strikes

Cyberpunk 2077 Launch: Streamers Warned to Mute Audio During Brain Dance Sequences

The highly anticipated launch of Cyberpunk 2077 has propelled it to the top of Twitch. However, streamers who broadcast the game may encounter some issues.

In a tweet, the Cyberpunk team advised streamers to mute their audio during the first two Brain Dance sequences to avoid any DMCA issues.

The game includes several features specifically designed for streamers to ensure a seamless streaming experience. These features include a toggle to censor explicit imagery and an option to disable copyrighted music within the game.

Unfortunately, even with this option enabled during the Brain Dance sequence, copyrighted music still plays. The development team is actively working on a fix.

With the rise of DMCA strikes on Twitch in recent months, it is likely that more games will implement similar features to better support streamers showcasing their gameplay.

During Fortnite’s most recent end-of-season event, streamers were forced to endure copyrighted music that was unavoidable for players at the time. Twitch advised streamers to remove any footage with this audio from their channels to avoid copyright claims.
