Elevate releases veteran players from Counter-Strike lineup

Elevate makes roster changes, impacting Counter-Strike team

Elevate, known for representing Counter-Strike’s past, has made a roster change that may change their representation of the game’s history.

Elevate has removed Sal “Volcano” Garozzo and Matt “Warden” Dickens from their active roster, replacing them with Daniel “Roca” Gustaferri and Jonathan “Elige” Jablonowski.

While Garozzo is leaving the team altogether, Dickens will stay on as the team’s new coach.

Garozzo joined the team in November and has displayed great skill at times. He has previously played for Team 3D and zEx, two prestigious teams in their prime.

Dickens’ departure is a bigger loss as he has been a part of the team for a long time. His best years were with Complexity, making him a veteran in the Counter-Strike scene.

Gustaferri and Jablonowski represent a departure from the team’s usual veteran players. While Gustaferri has experience at the top level of North American Counter-Strike, it doesn’t match up to that of Garozzo or Dickens.

Jablonowski is even newer to the professional scene. But Elevate hopes that the addition of fresh talent will help them break through and compete with the best teams.

Their recent attempt to succeed at the ESEA global final ended in defeat against Fnatic and Denial Esports.

Despite the changes, Elevate still has veteran player Tyler “Storm” Wood on their roster. Wood had success with Complexity and brings valuable experience to the team.

As the new season of invitational league play begins, Elevate hopes that their new roster can take them back to the ESEA global finals.
