Gen.G to Showcase Top Female-Identifying Talent in VALORANT Tournament

Gen.G and Partners Host Astral Clash Tournament to Showcase Female VALORANT Talent

Gen.G, in collaboration with Galorants, Tampax, and Always, is organizing the Astral Clash tournament to highlight the skills of female-identifying players in the North American VALORANT community. The tournament aims to raise funds for charity.

According to a press release, Tampax and Always, along with global esports organization Gen.G and Galorants, the largest community of female-identifying and nonbinary VALORANT gamers, have joined forces to challenge gender stereotypes and launch the Astral Clash tournament series featuring some of the top female-identifying VALORANT players in North America.

The tournament will consist of online qualifiers taking place from June 17 to 19 and July 15 to 17. The live finals, which will include four teams, will be held in southern California on August 6. Throughout the tournament, ambassador teams led by empowering women will provide mentorship and support.

Aside from showcasing their gaming skills, these teams will also be raising funds for two worthy causes. One is the Period Education Project, which brings accurate period education to underserved communities. The other is the Uniquely You Summit, which empowers Black girls and teaches them self-love, self-worth, and self-care. Fans can contribute to these charities by redeeming points on the Procter and Gamble website.

Melissa Suk, the Vice President of North America Tampax and Always at Procter & Gamble, emphasized the importance of encouraging girls to participate in sports through campaigns like Always’ #KeepHerPlaying. She expressed pride in expanding this mission into esports by partnering with Gen.G and Galorants, organizations that share the same goal of breaking down barriers in the gaming community.

To participate in the tournament, interested individuals can sign up on the Astral Clash website. Fans who want to watch the event unfold and make charitable donations can tune into the Galorants Twitch channel on June 17 to 19 and July 15 to 17.
