Rawkus steps in for SicK for the remainder of Stage 2

Sentinels Announce SicK’s Extended Leave for Family Matters

Sentinels have announced that Hunter “SicK” Mims will be taking an extended leave to attend to family matters. In his absence, head coach Shane “Rawkus” Flaherty will step in for the remainder of the VALORANT Champions Tour North America Stage Two.

Sentinels had a disappointing end to 2021, failing to make the playoffs at Champions. Their goal for 2022 was to bounce back and regain their form.

Sentinels received a direct invite to the group stage for the first stage of North America’s VCT. Despite finishing with a 3-2 record, they couldn’t advance further, losing to The Guard and Version1 in the playoffs.

In Stage Two, Sentinels made their first roster move in over a year, benching Jared “zombs” Gitlin for Eric “Kanpeki” Xu. However, they fell short in the first open qualifier, losing to FaZe and Luminosity.

In the second open qualifier, Sentinels faced elimination and had to win five consecutive matches to qualify for the group stage.

Sentinels managed to overcome the challenge and secure their spot.

Sentinels currently hold a 0-3 record in the group stage, with losses against Luminosity, Evil Geniuses, and OpTic. To have a chance at making the VALORANT playoffs, they must win their remaining matches against FaZe and Cloud9. Unfortunately, they will have to do it without SicK.
