Valve discusses Dota 2 Fall Update: Fresh heroes, revamped development plan, and more

The Fall Season Update for Dota 2: New Hero Incoming

The Fall Season update for Dota 2 is now live, bringing exciting changes for Dota Plus and Guilds. Valve has also shared more details about their upcoming content plans for the rest of the year.

One of the biggest highlights of this update is the announcement that Valve will be releasing a new hero by the end of November.

To keep the community informed, the Dota team has committed to better communication regarding future plans and updates. This includes sharing more information about the upcoming hero, which would have been revealed at The International 10.

Valve aims to introduce this new hero by the end of November, although there could be possible delays. Additionally, they have plans to release several heroes throughout 2021, including one in early Spring.

Instead of focusing all content around The International, Valve has decided to adopt a more consistent and engaging approach. The steady release of updates and content throughout the year is expected to keep players more engaged.

Valve is also revamping their approach to player behavior and toxicity. This includes improvements to the smurf detection system, changes to behavior scores, and the implementation of an Overwatch system to combat toxic and disruptive behavior. More details about this system will be shared in the near future.

Furthermore, Dota’s performance on multi-core CPUs will be enhanced in the coming weeks. Valve has been working on engine developments to optimize Dota’s multi-core CPU performance. However, they anticipate the need to address any new bugs that may arise from this change.

Stay tuned for more updates and exciting additions to Dota 2!
