T1’s Semifinal Series against Gen.G reaches 906,000 Viewers in 2021 LCK Summer Split

T1 Qualifies for 2021 League of Legends World Championship with Record-Breaking Viewership

T1, the most successful organization in the LCK (League of Legends Champions Korea), has secured their spot in the 2021 League of Legends World Championship. They emerged victorious in the LCK Summer Split semifinal series against Gen.G, drawing a staggering peak viewership of over 906,000, the highest of the entire 2021 LCK season, as reported by Esports Charts.

T1’s Dominance in Viewership

For years, T1 has maintained its position as the leader in LCK viewership. According to Esports Charts, T1 played in the five most-watched series of the summer split and four out of the five most-watched series in the spring split.

Consistency in Performance

Even though T1 missed out on qualifying for Worlds 2020, they have displayed consistent performance, consistently finishing in the top five of the LCK over the past two years. Their success can largely be attributed to Faker, the most famous player in the League of Legends world.

T1’s Journey in the 2021 LCK Summer Split

This year, T1 garnered significant attention due to major changes in their coaching staff and roster, resulting in a 10-player team. After finishing in fourth place in the 2021 LCK Spring Split and losing to Gen.G in the semifinals, T1 showcased their dominance in the summer split by emerging victorious in every matchup against Gen.G. Their recent semifinal showdown was no exception, as T1 emerged as the winners.

Rematch of Powerhouses in the Summer Split Finals

While the T1 vs. Gen.G series had the highest viewership peak of the season, the second and third most-watched series were clashes between T1 and DWG KIA during the first week of the Spring and Summer Splits. As a result, the Summer Split finals between T1 and DWG KIA are expected to attract even more viewers as a highly anticipated rematch of these two powerful teams.

T1 will face DWG KIA in the 2021 LCK Summer Split finals on August 28 at 3 AM CT.
