Team WE Secures First Place in Group D at Worlds
Team WE emerged victorious against Misfits in a thrilling showdown at Worlds, securing the top spot in Group D.
Misfits initially dominated the early game by gaining an advantage in the bot lane. With skillful plays and aggressive strategy, the Misfits duo consistently outplayed WE. As a result, WE’s bot lane fell behind, granting Misfits complete control of the early game.
Desperate to regain momentum, WE made bold moves across the map. They gathered their entire team in the bot lane in an attempt to secure a kill and take down a tower. While they succeeded in their endeavor, their actions came at a high cost. Misfits capitalized on the opportunity, seizing two towers to maintain their lead.
However, Misfits became overconfident and made greedy plays. They aggressively targeted players, sacrificing summoner spells to engage with a team consisting of two tanks and significant damage. This allowed WE to stage a comeback and regain control of the game.
WE expertly slowed down the pace of the game, narrowing the large gold gap that Misfits had developed. The match reached a critical point during a 15-minute Baron dance, with both teams vying for vision and control. Ultimately, WE secured the Baron buff, which proved to be the turning point in their favor.
Yet, they needed a second Baron to finally break into Misfits’ base. The hometown heroes found a decisive teamfight and emerged victorious, claiming the game as their own.
With this win, Team WE secures their spot as the top team in Group D. Meanwhile, Misfits will now face off against TSM for the chance to secure the second spot in the quarterfinals.
