Somnus Honored as MVP for ESL One Birmingham Online

Somnus Named ESL One Birmingham Online Mercedes-Benz MVP

PSG.LGD’s player, Somnus, has been named the MVP of ESL One Birmingham Online Mercedes-Benz Tournament after a week of voting. He outperformed his regional competitors, including Team Secret’s Puppey, Quincy Crew’s Lelis, and Fnatic’s Jabz, to claim the award and a new Mercedes-Benz car as his prize.

Somnus’ Stellar Performance

Somnus showcased exceptional skills throughout the tournament, excelling on more than 10 different heroes with only a few below-average games. His partnership with Chalice in the frontline effectively outplayed the opposing teams, giving LGD a significant advantage in every match.

LGD proved their dominance by almost sweeping through the group stage undefeated, reaffirming their position at the top of China’s competitive Dota 2 scene. After struggling to maintain good results for months, fy’s squad has emerged as one of the world’s best teams, surpassing Vici Gaming in various team rankings.

Strong Performance, Few Defeats

Throughout the tournament, Somnus and his team only dropped two games – one against Royal Never Give Up in the group stage and another against Invictus Gaming in the grand finals. LGD remained a formidable force, with Somnus shining in multiple matches.

By winning ESL One Birmingham Online, LGD achieved their first top finish outside of the China Dota 2 Professional League since March. However, they have consistently secured championship titles in the CDPL. The competition will intensify to see if Vici Gaming can reclaim their top spot in China before inter-region play between teams resumes.
