FORG1VEN claims he left Schalke’s roster due to team’s refusal to modify the lineup

Konstantinos-Napoleon “FORG1VEN” Tzortziou Steps Down from Schalke 04 Roster

Konstantinos-Napoleon “FORG1VEN” Tzortziou, a highly competitive player in the European League of Legends scene, has made the decision to step down from Schalke 04’s roster until changes are made. FORG1VEN expressed that the current roster does not align with his commitment to winning and being competitive. In the absence of changes, both parties have agreed to his temporary departure.

FORG1VEN’s Statement

FORG1VEN stated, “Throughout my seven-year career, my primary focus has always been to play to win and be competitive. Unfortunately, the current roster does not uphold these principles. Schalke is unwilling or unable to make the necessary changes to align with our shared goals. Thus, we have mutually agreed that stepping down is the best course of action until such changes are made, if they decide to do so.”

Struggles for Schalke 04

Schalke 04 has been off to a rocky start this season, with three consecutive losses in the 2020 Spring Split. Each defeat has been increasingly disappointing. FORG1VEN, as the ADC, has the highest number of deaths and the fewest kills among all ADCs in the league. However, it is important to note that the entire team has been underperforming during this time.

FORG1VEN’s History

This is not the first time FORG1VEN has faced such circumstances. In 2016, the 27-year-old was benched by Origen due to motivational issues. During that period, he expressed that he was no longer enjoying League of Legends and had started to find more enjoyment in playing Overwatch.

For week four, Schalke 04’s Academy ADC, Nihat “Innaxe” Aliev, will replace FORG1VEN in the starting lineup. While the team has assured that they will continue to rely on FORG1VEN in the Spring and Summer Splits, it seems that Schalke is focused on making the majority of their current roster work. As a result, there is uncertainty regarding when FORG1VEN may return to the LEC stage.

Schalke 04 faces challenging matches against Rogue and G2 Esports in the upcoming weeks. Be sure to catch them in action during the next LEC event.
