Afreeca Freecs Welcomes LirA as Coach and Extends Rigby’s Contract until 2021

Afreeca Freecs Adds Former Jungler LirA to Coaching Staff, Extends Coach Rigby’s Contract

Afreeca Freecs, the League of Legends team, has made significant changes to its coaching staff. The organization announced yesterday that former jungler and analyst LirA has joined the team, while coach Rigby’s contract has been extended through the 2021 LCK season.

Earlier this week, Afreeca said goodbye to longtime head coach iloveoov and two other coaches. LirA is the first addition to AFS’ coaching staff during the offseason.

Improving Coaching Staff with Rigby and LirA

Rigby joined AFS in May for the 2020 LCK Summer Split, and his coaching abilities have been highly regarded by the organization. His outstanding performance in strategy and analysis has earned him a contract extension, ensuring his presence on the team until at least 2021.

As for LirA, he has had a diverse career in the League scene, competing in both the LCK and LCS. In addition to his playing career, he has also participated in the LCK Analysis Desk in 2020, showcasing his exceptional analysis skills. He previously joined the first iteration of AFS in 2015 as a player and is now returning to the organization as a coach for the first time in his career.

Changes and Expectations for Afreeca Freecs in 2021

Afreeca had a disappointing year in the LCK, failing to secure a spot in the World Championship for the second consecutive year. With the overhaul of the coaching staff, fans can anticipate potential changes to the team’s roster as well. The announcement of the new head coach is yet to be made.
