2021 LCS Summer Split: Check Out the Latest Standings

The LCS Returns with Exciting Format Changes

The LCS is back and it comes with some major format changes that are sure to bring excitement to the League of Legends community. Riot believes that these changes, combined with an “overhaul” of the amateur ecosystem, will help develop North America into a more competitive region.

The regular season has been expanded to five games a day, three days a week. Instead of having separate spring and summer seasons, the splits have now been combined to determine the end-of-summer LCS Championship. This means that the results from the 2021 Spring Split will carry over to the Summer Split.

The Spring Split started in January and lasted for six weeks. It consisted of a double round-robin format, where each team played against every other team twice. The Summer Split, on the other hand, is a triple round-robin over nine weeks. This extended format gives teams more chances to prove themselves and rise to the top of the North American scene.

The LCS format change also brings more stakes to the competition. The top three teams in the LCS will qualify for the World Championship, adding even more excitement to the games.
