Hanwha Life Esports recruits MadLife as a streamer

Legendary Support MadLife Joins Hanwha Life Esports as Streamer

Popular support player Hong ‘MadLife’ Min-gi has joined Hanwha Life Esports as a streamer, the organization announced today.

MadLife was known for his exceptional skills during his prime. He became famous for his ‘MadLife hook’ where he landed hooks that caused opponents to flash on Blitzcrank or Thresh. He had a successful career as a professional League player until 2018, when he retired and joined Riot Games as an LCK caster and analyst. In February 2020, he left Riot to pursue a streaming career.

Hanwha Life Esports announced the signing of ‘MadLife’ Hong Min-gi as an exclusive streamer, as seen on Twitter.

Early Career and Success in Korea

MadLife started his professional career in Season 2 with MiG Frost. He played alongside other legends such as CloudTemplar and Rapidstar and quickly established himself as one of the top supports in the Korean professional scene.

Although MiG Frost (later acquired by Azubu) didn’t achieve significant results, MadLife consistently stood out as one of the best players on the roster. He played with numerous ADCs and consistently performed exceptionally well.

International Pursuits and Retirement

After CJ Entus got relegated in 2017, MadLife looked to North America for a fresh start. He joined Gold Coin United, a NACS team aiming to qualify for NA LCS. However, after two unsuccessful attempts, MadLife left the team and returned to Korea.

Unable to secure a desirable offer for the 2018 season from teams in EU LCS, NA LCS, Korea, and Turkey, MadLife announced that he would be streaming extensively during the summer to reassess his options. However, a few weeks before the Summer Split began, he surprised fans by announcing his retirement.
