League Patch 13.1 brings potential buffs for Lissandra, reviving the Ice Witch in the meta

Lissandra’s Buffs in the Upcoming League of Legends Patch

Riot Games has released a preview of the changes for the first patch of the 2023 ranked season in League of Legends. One champion that stands out among the buffs is Lissandra, the mid lane mage.

Lissandra has been overlooked for some time, with her last nerf dating back to Patch 12.10, which affected all champions in the game. She received a nerf to her ultimate ability, reducing its base numbers and AP ratio. However, she is now receiving some small buffs that might bring her back into the meta.

Lissandra’s Buffs in Patch 13.1

Lissandra will receive three buffs in Patch 13.1 according to Riot Phlox’s patch preview. Firstly, her health growth will increase from 104 to 110. This means she will gain an extra six maximum health per level, which can be a crucial bonus for survival in the late game.

The second buff will be applied to her Ice Shard ability, increasing its slow effect by four percent at rank one and eight percent at max rank. Since Lissandra usually maxes this ability first, players will notice an immediate difference in their ability to land spells.

Finally, Lissandra’s Ring of Frost ability cooldown will be reduced by two seconds at all ranks. This reduction will allow her to cast the ability more frequently, which could have a significant impact on mid-game team fights.

Overall, these substantial buffs are likely to boost Lissandra’s win rate and pick rate. Currently, her win rate is at 48.79 percent, and her pick rate is at 1.6 percent according to u.gg. However, whether she becomes an S-tier pick will depend on the meta and the popularity of other mid-lane champions like Akali, Sylas, and Zed.

Lissandra excels at pushing waves and having lane priority over opponents. With the increased slow on her Q ability, she will be even more punishing to enemies, making her combos, gank setups, and dives more effective.

Furthermore, Lissandra’s greatest strength lies in her ability to disrupt enemies with her spells. She can use them to protect her allies or quickly shut down enemy carries. In a meta dominated by late-game ADCs, she can be the perfect counterpick to neutralize the main threats.

League players can experience the impact of these buffs themselves when Patch 13.1 goes live on Tuesday, Jan. 10.
