Abed Achieves Milestone of 11,000 MMR in Dota 2

Filipino Dota 2 Player Abed Hits 11,000 MMR, Becomes SEA’s Top Ranked Player

Filipino superstar Abed, a mid laner for Evil Geniuses, has achieved a significant milestone in his career. He is now the first player in the Southeast Asian region to reach 11,000 MMR in Dota 2, solidifying his position as the top-ranked player.

Abed previously made history in 2017 by becoming the first player to reach a five-digit MMR, hitting 10,000. In 2019, when Valve introduced seasonal resets for MMR, Abed once again took the lead by reaching 10,000 first.

Continued Success Amidst Challenges

Despite facing challenges due to the current global situation, Abed has continued to focus on his gameplay. He has been unable to participate in professional matches as he is currently in his home country. As a result, Evil Geniuses has had to find substitutes based in North America for online tournaments.

Nevertheless, Abed has taken advantage of this time by grinding in public matches, which has allowed him to achieve his impressive MMR milestone.

A Growing Community of 10,000 MMR Players

Since Abed’s initial achievement, more players have joined the ranks of the 10,000 MMR club. Valve’s decision to set a static value for rating gain and loss at the beginning of 2020, along with an extended season, has provided players with more time to reach this milestone.

Looking Ahead

With the next Battle Pass update expected to bring a new ranked season, aspiring competitors will have to put in the effort and grind their way up the MMR ladder. For now, Abed stands alone at the top, showcasing his skill and dedication.
