Experienced Player Vizicsacsi Joins Astralis as Top Laner for 2022 LEC Summer Split

Vizicsacsi Announced as Astralis’ New Top Laner for 2022 LEC Summer Split

Get ready for a familiar face in the competitive League of Legends scene. Astralis has announced that Kiss “Vizicsacsi” Tamás will be the team’s new starting top laner for the 2022 LEC Summer Split.

Vizicsacsi, 28, will be joining Astralis as a transfer from the LFL’s GamersOrigin. After retiring in 2019, he made a return to pro play as a temporary substitute for PEACE at Worlds 2021 before joining the LFL at the end of the year.

In the past, Vizicsacsi competed in the LEC with Splyce, leading the team to their second Worlds appearance. Although they were eliminated in the quarterfinals by Faker and SK Telecom T1, Vizicsacsi has always been known as one of the most knowledgeable players in the league.

“By adding Vizicsacsi to the team, we have a veteran player that understands his role and can make an impact in team fights, regardless of resource allocation,” said Astralis’ head coach Bjørn Hansen. “He has already shown incredible motivation and expertise, making him instinctively know what to do in high-pressure situations.”

A New Beginning for Astralis

Astralis is looking to start fresh after three disappointing seasons in the LEC. Their latest split was their worst, finishing last with a 3-15 record. The 2022 roster couldn’t compete with most teams in the league.

As a result, the organization has decided to rebuild the roster, parting ways with Zanzarah, WhiteKnight, and promisq during the mid-season break. Astralis will continue with rookie mid laner Dajor and AD carry Kobbe, leaving positions for a new jungler and support in the upcoming 2022 Summer Split.
