Cloud9 reigns as the top ‘League of Legends’ team in North America

Cloud 9 Dominates LCS Spring Split Finals, Named Best League of Legends Team in North America

Cloud 9 proved their dominance in the North American League of Legends scene with a resounding 3-0 victory over Team SoloMid in the LCS Spring Split finals. The team earned $50,000 for their win, while TSM took home $25,000.

Cloud 9’s Unmatched Performance

Cloud 9 showcased their skill and teamwork throughout the series, suffering only six deaths in the three maps. This victory brings their LCS playoff record to an impressive 18-0.

According to Cloud 9’s all-star Jungler, William “Meteos” Hartman, the team played exceptionally well and executed their strategies to perfection. The team had superior vision control and rarely fell prey to ambushes.

Cloud 9’s Winning Formula

From the champion select phase to the gameplay, Cloud 9 displayed their superiority. They won their lane matchups and effectively capitalized on TSM’s objectives. Their strong crowd control and catch abilities gave them control of the game and ultimately led to their victory.

A Battle of Styles

The match was anticipated as a clash between two styles: Team SoloMid’s aggressive individual play and Cloud 9’s strategic approach. However, Cloud 9 proved that their teamwork and tactics could overpower TSM’s top lane talent.

Even though TSM put up a fight in games two and three, they couldn’t convert their early advantages into significant leads. Cloud 9 effectively shut down TSM’s threats and secured their victory.

Cloud 9’s Playoff MVP

Hai Lam, Cloud 9’s mid laner and team captain, stood out as the playoff MVP. With an impressive 19/2/50 KDA over five playoff games, he was a force to be reckoned with. Notably, he didn’t give up a single kill against Bjergsen, the regular season MVP.

All-Star Invitational and Beyond

Looking ahead, Cloud 9 is excited to compete against top teams from every region in the All-Star Invitational in Paris. While they have faced European and Chinese teams, they are eager to challenge the legendary Korean mid laner, Faker, and his team SK Telecom T1 K.

The international stage is the next step for Cloud 9. They aim to redeem themselves after a disappointing performance at the Intel Extreme Masters Katowice tournament and make a mark in Paris.
