Impact and Jensen guide Team Liquid to a dominant victory against Phong Vũ Buffalo at MSI 2019

Phong Vũ Buffalo Falls to Team Liquid at MSI 2019

Phong Vũ Buffalo, despite their impressive performance in the play-in stage of the 2019 Mid-Season Invitational, couldn’t match the firepower and teamwork of Team Liquid. The LCS Spring Split champions dominated the hometown heroes, sweeping them convincingly.

Phong Vũ Buffalo’s Strong Start

Phong Vũ Buffalo started the games off strong, showcasing their skirmish play alongside Hoàng “Meliodas” Tiến Nhật. They were able to push Team Liquid and even took the lead in some of the games.

However, Phong Vũ Buffalo struggled to find their win conditions in any of the games. Their decision making in the mid-to-late game was lackluster, costing them multiple times. Furthermore, they failed to utilize their top lane carry, Phạm “Zeros” Minh Lộc, despite having strong champions for him.

On the other hand, Team Liquid displayed calm and calculated aggression along with outstanding performances from Jung “Impact” Eon-yeong and Nicolaj Jensen. These individual efforts played a crucial role in Liquid’s victory, despite some minor flaws.

The outcome of this series was expected, but Phong Vũ Buffalo’s MSI journey is not over yet. They still have one more match against Vega Squadron, where they can secure a spot in the Main Event and compete in front of their home crowd.

Meanwhile, Team Liquid looks ahead to the group stage, where they face off against some of the world’s best teams. The true challenge begins, and Liquid will need to maintain their controlled aggression and fearlessness to succeed at MSI 2019.
