Cloud9 dominates Team Liquid in commanding win during Day 1 of 2020 LCS Spring Split

Cloud9 Upsets Team Liquid in Opening Match of LCS Spring Split

The 2020 LCS season kicked off with an unexpected upset as Cloud9 defeated Team Liquid in the first match of the Spring Split. Despite predictions favoring Team Liquid, Cloud9 dominated the game and secured an impressive victory.

The early stages of the match were slow-paced, with both teams showing hesitation in making aggressive plays. However, when Cloud9 managed to take down substitute jungler Shern “Shernfire” Cherng Tai, they quickly capitalized on their advantage, leaving Team Liquid powerless to stop them.

Mid laner Yasin “Nisqy” Dinçer showcased his talent on Veigar, effectively countering Nicolaj Jensen’s Azir right from the start. Nisqy’s Event Horizon ability proved to be a major obstacle for Team Liquid, preventing them from engaging meaningfully. He finished the game with four kills, the highest on his team.

Star top laner Eric “Licorice” Ritchie made a significant impact in the top lane by outperforming his opponent and securing solo kills, further strengthening Cloud9’s advantage.

Although Team Liquid still needs to refine their playstyle, their team-building issues may persist as Broxah has yet to clear his visa. On the other hand, Cloud9 has demonstrated their ability to compete with top teams, despite losing key players in the past off-season.

Team Liquid aims to bounce back against TSM on Monday Night League, while Cloud9 seeks to maintain their positive start with a victory against Golden Guardians this weekend.
