Gambit dominates Nigma at ESL One Los Angeles Online

Nigma’s Struggles Continue with 2-0 Loss to Gambit Esports

Nigma’s journey in the ESL One Los Angeles Online tournament took another blow today as they suffered a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Gambit Esports. While the games were not as fast-paced as their previous losses, Nigma never seemed to have control over the matchups, allowing Gambit to take the lead in game one and dominate in game two.

Gambit’s Late-Game Teamfight Secures Victory

Despite Miracle- playing Ember Spirit and gh on Earthshaker, Nigma struggled to maintain map control against Gambit’s powerful Morphling and Lycan cores. Although Nigma’s heroes scaled well, Gambit’s late-game teamfight was superior, resulting in a significant swing 25 minutes into the match.

KuroKy’s Chen did not have the desired impact, as Gambit’s Pangolier, Weaver, and Grimmstroke outperformed Nigma’s early strategy.

Game Two Domination

Gambit’s convincing victory in the first game boosted their confidence heading into game two. With Fng leading the way with his Grimmstroke and Dream showing great skill on Ember Spirit, Nigma struggled to counter their opponents. Miracle-‘s Leshrac and w33’s Outworld Devourer attempted to stop Gambit’s onslaught, but an unorthodox lineup centered around a first pick Io proved to be ineffective.

Gambit’s dual laning strategy with dream and gpk on Ember Spirit and Death Prophet led to 26 kills in the first 20 minutes, establishing a significant lead for the CIS team.

Nigma’s Playoff Hopes Hang in the Balance

Despite Nigma’s valiant effort to regain momentum after a lost teamfight at the 25-minute mark, they were unable to secure the kills needed to turn the tide. Gambit maintained their net worth advantage and sealed the series with a decisive victory in game two.

As a result, Nigma finds themselves at the bottom of the Group A standings, while this win marks Gambit’s first series victory in the tournament. Nigma’s next challenge will be against Dendi and B8 on April 10, where they must secure a victory to keep their hopes of reaching the playoffs alive.
