Game Pass holders will now have all League champions unlocked, though limitations apply to equipping skins

All Champion Unlocks with Game Pass, But Skins Remain Locked

Connecting your Game Pass subscription to your Riot Games account will unlock all existing and new champions in League of Legends. However, purchasing skins for champions will not be possible.

While Game Pass users will have access to all champions, they will still need to buy them with Blue Essence or RP, or create them with champion shards, in order to purchase skins. Simply having them unlocked through Game Pass does not grant permanent ownership. This is similar to the weekly free champion rotation, where champions can be used but still need to be bought to own.

How to Unlock All Champions and VALORANT Agents with Game Pass

It is unclear if Game Pass owners will be able to use the unlocked champions in the game’s ranked queues. If the logistics are similar to the free champion rotation, it is likely that players will not be able to use champions they have not purchased in ranked games.

Unlocked content from the Xbox and Riot account connection will be marked with a special in-game icon. Once the Game Pass subscription ends, the unlocked champions will be locked again and cannot be used in League of Legends.

The Game Pass bonuses for all of Riot’s games, including League of Legends, will officially launch on December 12th.
