World Region Rankings Coefficient in League of Legends

League of Legends Region Rankings – An Analysis

In this article, we will be discussing the rankings of League of Legends regions based on a coefficient ranking system.

Most of the results of the ranking system are predictable, except for the noticeable gap between the European Union (EU) and North America (NA), as well as the lack of gap between NA and the LMS region. Despite facing some disadvantages in international tournaments, China has consistently performed well. Now, let’s take a look at how the coefficient is calculated:

Point Breakdown

The coefficient is calculated based on the importance and number of teams invited to each tournament. For example, the World Championship (WC) carries more weight than the Mid-Season Invitational (MSI) due to factors such as point differences and the number of teams invited. The WC usually has 16 teams, while the MSI only has 5 teams.

Please note that these calculations are challenging due to inconsistent tournament formats and regional invites. For more information, you can visit this page.

In the future, we hope to see more tournaments and better formats that will contribute to more accurate coefficients. We are also considering creating a team power ranking that takes into account the strength of the region they are playing in using these coefficients.
