Chaos Esports Club Parts Ways with Dota 2 Team

Chaos Esports Club Releases YawaR, SVG, and Other Quincy Crew Dota 2 Players

Chaos Esports Club has decided to release YawaR, SVG, and the rest of the Quincy Crew Dota 2 players today, after just five months of playing under the organization. The decision is due to cost-cutting measures during the current coronavirus pandemic and the uncertainties surrounding the 2019-20 Dota Pro Circuit.

Chaos Esports Club, a strong team in North America, is focusing their resources on other projects amidst the pandemic. This move comes as a response to the financial challenges posed during these times.

The former Quincy Crew roster had a successful run with Chaos Esports Club, making only one change in the five months they were contracted. They achieved second place at Dota Summit 11 but had an early elimination at their only Major appearance, DreamLeague Season 13, finishing in 13th place.

Chaos Esports Club is actively working with their released players to ensure they are well taken care of during this transition period.

According to Chaos CEO Greg Laird, this decision was not made lightly. However, given the current circumstances and the suspended Dota Pro Circuit, the organization cannot justify the cost of maintaining a Dota 2 team. The focus is now on key projects that will contribute to the long-term success of the organization.

With J.Storm, Complexity, and now Chaos all withdrawing from Dota in North America, sponsorship opportunities may be limited for the former Chaos roster if they decide to stick together. However, with Cloud9 forming a new roster, the scene is not entirely empty.

In the current uncertain DPC season, player-run stacks are likely to become more common. Both the former Chaos roster and Fear’s business associates roster (formerly J.Storm) are talented teams, but the future remains uncertain.

The ESL One Los Angeles Major, still scheduled to take place, will feature an online format. The current roster that SVG will lead into battle includes YawaR, CCnC, MSS, Biver, and KBBQ as the manager. However, it is unclear whether they will continue as Quincy Crew in the NA bracket.

Overall, the release of the Quincy Crew players by Chaos Esports Club highlights the challenges faced by esports organizations during these unprecedented times.
