Just 1.8 percent of participants accurately predicted the final rankings of Groups A and B at Worlds 2020

The League of Legends World Championship Group Stage Sees Only 1.8% Perfect Predictions

The group stage matches for Groups A and B at the 2020 League of Legends World Championship have concluded. Surprisingly, only 1.8% of participants in the pick’em challenge have perfectly predicted the results. Out of the 3.2 million players, only 59,307 accurately guessed the final placings of all eight teams that finished group play so far.

This Year’s Pick’em Challenge Has More Participants Than Ever

Last year, 2,682 people correctly predicted the final group stage placements at Worlds 2019. It seems like this number will be surpassed this year, unless there are some major upsets in the next two days. With several strong teams competing at Worlds 2020, it’s not surprising that many players have accurately predicted the teams that made it out of the group stage.

This year’s pick’em challenge has over 3.2 million participants, a slight increase from last year. The perfect pick’em prize, an Alienware Battlestation used by the pros, may have enticed even more League fans to participate this year.

For those who didn’t achieve a perfect pick’em, there are still various prizes based on the number of points earned for accurate predictions. These prizes include Blue Essence, Summoner Icons, Orange Essence, Champion Shards, and Hextech chests.

The Worlds 2020 action will continue tomorrow with the final games of Group C starting at 3am CT.
